The motto of Little Athletics is "Family, Fun and Fitness", and we rely on everyone to help make this happen. The Centre needs the assistance of approximately 40 officials per night to be able to conduct all the programmed events successfully each competion night .
All officials are volunteers, and the Centre does not expect anyone to be an expert or to have any previous experience.
A committee member will be at each event to advise you what is required and you will quickly find that the job is not as hard as you thought.
When registering your child / children, all we ask is that you please nominate yourself for FOUR preferred duty dates thoughout the season.
We will do our best to provide you with your requested dates, but there may be an occasion that we may need to allocate a different duty day for you.
A $100 opt out fee is also offered for those wishing to take this up,however our preference is that we have your help.
Many duties are easy and include such jobs as :-
- Raking the sand pit after a jump,
- marking a jump or throw,
- meassuring a jump or throw,
- recording a time or distance,
- cooking and serving the BBQ.
On your duty day, please remember :
- To report for duty by 5.00pm on Friday nights and sign your name off on the duty roster sheet,
- Familiarise yourself with the equiptment at the event,
- Return the field event equiptment to the green shed at the conclusion of the program,
- Jump pits are to be raked & run ups swept (please check the pits for objects, but be careful),
- Don't be afraid to ask for assistance / instructions from the Chief Official or a Committee Member (who will be wearing a black and teal shirt on Friday nights).
- Most of all, assist the kids in having fun.
You can view the Roster on the Website, Facebook, Team App or at the Information table at competition nights and you will receive an SMS the week of your allocated duty.
If you are unable to do your required duty on a particular day, please arrange for someone to complete it for you, maybe swap with a friend.
But also remember to call 0458 524 115 so the duty roster can be updated.
Important : Please note that your child will not be awarded points if you have not completed your duty and therefore will not be eligible to receive awards. No Exception will be granted!
